PINNAWELA - See baby jumbos wondering around their cramped foster home or bottle fed and bathed by their human foster fathers at Pinnawala, about 90Km from Colombo towards Kandy is the home to some 60 or more elephant orphans. A place you will really enjoy and never forget. Most orphans are accustomed to their curious human visitors are harmless.  

Started in 1972 the Elephant Orphanage was relocated to at the present site in 1975 Bathing time at Ma Oya just in front of the orphanage is sharp at 10.00am and 2.00pm. Feeding time is about and hour earlier.
KANDY - Kandy`s main attraction is the Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th c. A.D., the sacred relic has ever since been the symbol of sovereignty for its rulers.

Royal Botanical Garden Paradeniya near Kandy is world famous inclusive of a variety of fauna and flora. It is also famed for its Orchid House, which has more than 300 varieties of exquisite orchids from the rare indigenous Foxtail and Vesak orchids.

Additionally the Spice Garden provides knowledge about the varied trees, plants and creepers that produce the special spices of Sri Lanka. The Gem        museum, Batik factories, Wood carving factories are famous places in Kandy

YALA - Yala is approximately 1,259 sq.km in extent and is located in the south eastern corner of the island. Its northern boundaries border the Lahugala Elephant Sanctuary and it has the added bonus of scenic ocean frontage. The terrain is a varied course of flat plains altering with rocky outcrops. The vegetation ranges from open parklands to dense jungle. Water holes, small lakes, lagoons and streams provide water for the animals and birds. The specialty here is the large numbers of elephants.
